We will take a long-term approach to defeating extremists. That means building a solid foundation in districts and states we can win. The same old strategy – spending millions on TV a month before election day – just will not cut it in districts and states with difficult numbers for democrats to win.

We have to think strategically about where we spend our money and who we target. Not every state and district with an extremist will be winnable in `24. In many, we have to take a longer-term approach to persuasion and turnout so we can actually win in the future.

That’s what this is about: delivering wins in some of the toughest states and districts across the country:

1. Turnout: Voting is a habit. And habits are built over time, not just through last minute texts and calls. Our goal is to build habits with infrequent voters, long-term.

2. Persuasion: In every district across the country, there are thousands of swing voters who will support a democrat over an extremist if they are persuaded with the right content delivered through the right media. Our job is to identify those voters and communicate with them consistently.

3. Voter Registration: In some districts, there are not enough democrats and swing voters to win, period. That means we have to target unregistered voters who are likely to vote democratic and fundamentally change the numbers.

4. Movement Growth: In each district and state with an extremist, there are dedicated activists and donors who are fighting year after year to defeat these candidates. Our goal is to connect them and mobilize volunteers and donors nationwide.

We can do this. But in an increasingly expensive campaign landscape, it costs money to be able to communicate with voters consistently and at scale.
